Susan B. Anthony

• Susan Brownell Anthony was born  on February 15 1820 in Adams, Massachusetts.
• In 1846  Susan B. Anthony begins teaching at Canajoharie Academy for a yearly salary of $110.
• In 1852  Susan attended state convention of Sons of Temperance. It is her first women’s rights convention.
• In 1856 Susan became an agent for the American Anti-Slavery Society.
• In 1863 Susan and  Elizabeth Stanton write the “Appeal to the Women of the Republic.”
• In 1872 Susan is arrested for voting and is indicted in Albany. She continues to lecture and attend conventions.
• In 1873 Susan was tried and fined $100 with costs after the judge ordered the jury to find her guilty. Anthony refused to pay but is not imprisoned so cannot appeal the verdict.
• In 1898 Susan established a press bureau to feed articles on woman suffrage to the national and local press.
• In 1905 Susan meet with President Theodore Roosevelt in Washington D.C. about submitting a suffrage amendment to Congress.
• In 1906 Susan died in her home on march 13 at the age of 86.

• Originally built in 1599.
• It’s nickname was the “Wooden O”.

• Owned by the Lord Chaimberlain’s Men, who worked for Shakespeare.
• The Globe Productions included the most famous early plays of William Shakespeare.
• Most of Shakespeare’s plays, including “Julius Caesar”, “Macbeth”, “Othello”, “King Lear”, “Hamlet” and “Romeo and Juliet” were performed there.
• It was and Elizabethan Theater.

• It cost 1 cent to stand or sit on the ground “Groundlings”.
• It cost 2 cents to sit in the galleries.
• Noblemen paid nothing and were seated in rooms near the stage.

• Plays were always performed during the day because there were no lights
• Music was an extra effect added in the 1600′s. The musicians would also reside in the Lords rooms.
• Shakespeare and his company built TWO Globe Theatres!
• Men played the roles of women and children.
• No curtains were used to signal the end of an act.
• The Globe theatre was built by a carpenter called Peter Smith together with his workforce. They started building in 1597 and it was finished in 1598.

• At the start of the play after collecting money from the audience the admission collectors put the boxes in a room backstage – the box office.
• All theaters located in the City were forced to move to the South side of the Thames River leading to the building of the Globe theatre.
• Advertising – Flags were erected on the day of the performance which sometimes displayed a picture advertising the next play to be performed.
• Color coding was used to advertise the type of play to be performed – a black flag meant a tragedy , white a comedy and red a history.

• Plays produced at the Globe theater had to be vetted to ensure that no unwanted propaganda was spread to the masses of Londoners.
• Fire broke out at the Globe Theatre  in June 29, 1613.
• The Second Globe Theatre was built shortly after in 1614.
• The Puritans ended the Globe Theatre in 1642 the Puritan Parliament issued an ordinance suppressing all stage plays. The Puritans demolish the Globe Theatre in 1644.

William Shakespeare was baptised April 26th 1524 and died April 23 1616. He was an english poet and playwright, widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world’s preeminent dramatist. He is often called England’s national poet and the “Bard of Avon.  His surviving works, including some collaborations, consist of 38 plays 154 sonnets, two long narrative poems, and several other poems. His plays have been translated into every major living language and are performed more often than those of any other playwright.

• No one knows the actual birthday of William Shakespeare.
• Anne Hathaway was eight years older then Shakespeare and three months pregnant when they got married.
• Many Shakespeare life facts are unknown – these are referred to as the Lost Years.
• Shakespeare’s Father, John was a money lender! He was accused in the Exchequer Court of Usury for lending money at the inflated rate of 20% and 25% Interest!
• William Arden, a relative of Shakespeare’s mother Mary Arden, was arrested for plotting against Queen Elizabeth I, imprisoned in the Tower of London and executed!
• Shakespeare and his company built TWO Globe Theatres!
• Shakespeare never published any of his plays!
• Shakespeare and the Globe Actors were implicated in the Essex Rebellion of 1601!
• Many eminent Authors and Politicians do not believe that Shakespeare wrote his plays…
• Shakespeare’s family were all illiterate!

This blog also reviews video games.  I like this blog because I like to read about movies before i spend my money to go see them in theaters, or decided to wait the 4-6 months before it comes out on DVD.

The Official Google blog is exactly what it sounds like. With the Search engine to google image and video searches. This blog has access to them, along with Google Earth, Google Maps, and Google news. This blog also comes with news about google and upcoming google events. I like this blog because like many people I use google’s earch engine and gmail, so knowing about Google is helpful.

Boing Boing is  filled with photos and stories that make you think “did that really happen?” This website mostly filled with funny or interesting pictures along with a post about the picture and what its about with the author’s opinion. I like this blog because it is fun to look at and see stories you wouldn’t usually see on a typical blog.

This book is very good. It opened my eyes to things some teenagers have to do to survive. This book is about 5 teenagers searching for themselves and along the way each one of their stories ties in with another in this book at sometime. There are 3 girls and 2 boys, all are caught up in prostitution in some point in the story. This book made me think that i have a really easy life.  I don’t have to make money for my family or struggle to get by. This book was very inspirational to me and it makes me want to do something to help stop teenage prostitution.

From the few pages that i have read of this book i already know i will like it.

This book wasn’t read to me so I would eat Lima beans, it was just simply a birthday gift given to me by my aunt. With the bright intriguing cover I probably read it right when I got it. I still love this book about a girl who won’t eat her Lima beans and becomes sick with strange things like becoming covered in stripes until a little old lady thinks she has what will cure her.
